Reaction in Fair Lawn to Joseph Lieberman Evan Marcus, Officer at the Fair Lawn Jewish Center Men's Club:  I am pleased that the Democratic Party is open minded enough to pick a Jew.  But voting for Gore-Lieberman because he is Jewish is no better than not voting for Gore-Lieberman because he is Jewish. Stu Solomon, Member of Temple Israel of Ridgewood:  It was a bold move for Gore to pick a minority and a Jew.  A lot of people don't consider Jews a minority because they're so influential.  I have heard both negative and positive comments from the Jewish community.  Both from pride and fright.  Joe Lieberman is a great candidate who stands on strong principles -- that should be the most influential in anyone's vote. Ellyn Miller, Member of B'Nai Israel:  I think it is great that Gore picked a Jewish man who is also moral and honest.  It's great that the country has come far enough to elect a Jewish Vice President.
