Preschools and Nurseries

Loretta Stachiotti, Principal of the St. Anne School, is proud of the relationship they have fostered between the business world and the academic world.  Every Thursday, employees from First Union Bank come to St. Anne School to read to the  Kindergarten and 1st grade classes.  At left,  Robert Bogosian, Vice President of the bank is reading “I’ll Teach My Dog 100 Words”.  The purpose of the program is to encourage the children to read and to show that adults care.  Ms. Stachiotti told Fair Lawn News: "This is a wonderful way to encourage children to develop a love for reading. It is especially nice having visitors in our school who are so willing to share their time with our students.”

This Fall, Temple Beth Sholom Nursery School and Kindergarten changed its name to the Helen Troum Nursery School and Kindergarten at Temple Beth Sholom.  Ms. Troum started the school in 1975 because she wanted a Temple oriented Nursery School and Kindergarten for her grand nephew.  The school started in one room with 26 children and now educates 110 children.

Our Savior Lutheran Nursery School is expanding their programs for  2 1/2 year olds and they have begun a new kindergarten enrichment program. 

The Children's Therapy Center at the Cerebral Palsey Center offers programs for children with disabilities.   The non-profit Center recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.

Most of these facilities have programs for 2, 3,4 and 5 year olds, but some take care of infants as young as six weeks and others have kindergarten programs.
