Traffic
Light at Chandler Drive
I
have requested that a traffic light be put up on Fair Lawn Avenue and Chandler
Drive. Nothing transpired. There are lots of senior citizens
in the new Commons Complex and on Chandler Drive. Drivers whiz by
with no regard for these people. They rush to get onto Route 208 North.
There is an accident waiting
to happen and a traffic light at that corner is a must.

Road Traffic Suggestions
Since
the River Road Improvement Corporation has been doing its part to improve
the River Road area, I would like to suggest some small improvements to
the intersections at Berdan and Fair Lawn Aves. At Fair Lawn Ave, I think
that a left lane only turn should be painted on the road going southbound
on River Road. And has anyone noticed that No Right On Red signs are
being ignored? Foot Patrol police or someone should be more vigilant
in enforcing this. Will it take an accident and death?
Secondly,
I think changes should be made in the positioning of "lane signs" at
each corner of Berdan and River Road. They are blocked by other signs or
trees. At what distance should these signs be clearly seen? The no
turn on red signs are not clearly visible, especially, if you are right under
them. Isn't there some rule governing their placement as well? I think that the
rule of common sense is not being applied.

Christmas
Decorations
Congratulations
to the River Road Committee for their progress so far. They have lovely wreaths
up on the light poles. On the other hand I sincerely trust the folks responsible
for the Radburn area do not put up those weak decorations that I have seen at
this time of year for a long time. Better they do nothing though that is not my
wish.

Plaza
Road and Morlot Avenue Intersection
During
the summer meeting the residents of Fair Lawn had with the Department of
Transportation it was brought out that it is imperative that a delayed
stop light be installed at the Plaza Rd- Morlot Ave intersection. If this
commitment is not kept prior to the closing down of Saddle River Road we
Fair Lawn residents are in for a real nightmare.

About Fair Lawn News
Thank
you for this wonderful addition to our Fair Lawn community. I hope
that all the citizens of Fair Lawn find the time to read and respond to
it. Phil Plotch deserves a great deal of praise for volunteering his
time and talent in this way (and no I am not his mother!). As the
Deputy Mayor, I too want to find out what you want and need. I hope
to read that on this web site. Or, please e-mail me at ketzel926@aol.com

to the next addition!

Please
notify me of additional publications of the Fair Lawn News.
Our town truly needs a way of keeping informed not just of quasi-
advertised events, as provided by the Fair Lawn News channel, but of those
issues and topics that affect our community, and ours alone.
The articles were somewhat brief, but generally resulting in a
concise approach, rather than skimpy on information.

I
read the Fair Lawn News with great interest! I was very impressed! I enjoyed the
articles about local news, particularly news about the Grand Union, the Radburn
Train Station, and Fair Lawn Real Estate. I also found some really useful
information from your links to outside sources. These were very helpful. I would
appreciate if you could notify me when new issues are available. Best of luck
with your newsletter!

Please
advise me when the next issue is available.
I found out about "Fair Lawn News" at the Fair Lawn
Library. It appears to be a
good means of communicating news that isn't readily found elsewhere.
