Giants Tickets   In the late 70's, Phil Plotch, a Long Island high school kid, was a big Giants fan. He dreamed of becoming another Fran Tarkenton or Larry Csonka. Thinking ahead, he wrote to the Giants asking to be put on the 'seven year waiting list' for season tickets.    He figured by the time they got up to his name, they would finish building the new Giants Stadium and he'd actually be able to afford to go.   In 1983, after graduating from college, he called the Giants. "You are number 1,800 on the waiting list", they told him. "You'll have to wait about seven years."   Every few years, he'd call. Slowly, the waiting list went down. But, they always told him, you will have to wait about seven years."   After moving to Fair Lawn eight years ago, he tried calling again. The waiting list had barely budged.   Apparently, Giants fans do not give up their season tickets.  Plotch figured that "either Giants fans lived forever or they were putting the tickets in their wills (along with their houses and other heirlooms)".    Two years ago, he tried writing to the Giants.  He realized after waiting more than twenty years, he might not live long enough to ever see the Giants in person.  Plotch was afraid his son wouldn't inherit Giants tickets -- he would just inherit a spot on the season ticket waiting list.   So, he pleaded for tickets. And, miraculously, the Giants felt sorry for him. He got a phone call from the Giants a few days after sending the letter.  The Giants ticket manager said "We have three tickets, does that work for you."   After waiting 22 years, he went to Giants Stadium.   Plotch can't go to all the games this year. (As the editor of Fair Lawn News, he's been kind of busy, lately).
