Sheri
Adler Remembered in Fair Lawn News
Sheri
Adler head of the League of Woman Voters and the morning Rotary Club, a
former Councilwoman and Deputy Mayor, as well as the owner of Creative
Classroom on Fair Lawn Avenue passed away recently at the age of 58.
Here's
what some Fair Lawn News readers said about her (many of these thoughts
were posted on the Discussion
Forum the week she passed away):
Assemblyman
Matt Ahearn: It
is with the greatest heartfelt sorrow that I announce the passing of the
Honorable Sheri Adler, former Councilwoman and friend to so many of us
here in Fair Lawn. She had a heart of gold and worked her entire life to
try to help others and make the world a better place to live in for
everyone. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
I wish to express my sympathy to her family and friends and all
those who feel the pain of her loss.
Sheri's
son, Alex: Mom, You have always been my guiding light and
you will remain my guiding light. For it is through your virtue of
patience, your ethical strength, your compassion and your moral sense of
civic duty that has helped me understand how to identify my place on Earth
and has enabled me to strive to achieve all my aspirations. I am
truly a direct reflection of you. I will never forget our lively
political discussions, your unique historical perspective, your
unconditional love, and most of all your wonderful cooking. Your
spirit will live on in all those you helped to inspire as well as in the
family you so endearingly loved. I miss you terribly. Forever
rest in peace. Your loving son, Alex.
Stuart
Pace: On behalf of
the membership of Fair Lawn Television Productions, I would like to offer
our prayers and sympathy to the Adler family on their loss. Sheri was a
major contributing member to our club and a friend of many years. Our
thoughts are with the Adler family at this time.
John
Cosgrove: I
met Sheri while working together on the 75th anniversary committee.
Since that time we've worked on many other projects together, I
always enjoyed her ideas and enthusiasm. I saw her the Tuesday night
before she died and she told me how excited she was about becoming the
President of Rotary & The League of Women Voters. The fact that Sheri
stayed involved in Fair Lawn, says a lot about her character . Sheri did a
lot for Fair Lawn and will be sadly missed.
Don
Smartt: As a
serving member of the board of trustees of the River Road Improvement
Project since her departure from local government service, Sheri brought
her advocacy for the business community and the community of Fair Lawn to
our efforts, discussion and work. She gave her time, talent and enthusiasm
to our work through her work on the Marketing Committee and on the board.
I worked with Sheri on Council and as a board member....I saw her hope,
her optimism and her caring first hand. Thank you, Sheri, for helping me
serve Fair Lawn.
Ron
Lottermann: While
I had only known Sheri for a very short time on a personal level at Fair
Lawn TV, she quickly became someone that I could call a friend. She was
supportive, caring, understanding and was truly a beautiful person.
I would like to extend my sympathies to the Adler family.
Lloyd
P. Dorfman: Rest
In Deserved Peace Sheri. Our
kids will miss you
Candice
Vivino:
I was shocked and saddened by Sheri's sudden passing. My heartfelt
condolences to the Adler family. May the lord bless you and keep you
Sheri. Rest in Peace.
Michele
Bartolomeo (addressed to Sheri's son, Alex):
I worked with your Mom at FLTV and she was a very nice lady. I am
glad that I had the short time of her friendship. My thoughts and prayers
are with you and your family. No words can be said to ease the pain or
loss at this time. May you find comfort in knowing she will always be in
your hearts and may prayer guide you in the days ahead. She is at peace
now, and take comfort in that her pain is no longer with her.
Dee
Wilson:
To the family of Sheri Adler, I'm very sorry for your loss. I
grew up in Fair Lawn and kept up with the discussion forum and newsletters...I
give her credit for posting her thoughts on the government, politics and
general thoughts, I felt I knew her just by reading her letters. I
applaud her! I will miss reading her postings.
