Book Group:  The Reader’s Roundtable book discussion group will discuss "How to Read a Poem: and Fall in Love with Poetry" by Edward Hirsch on Mon., Oct. 15, 1:00 pm and Weds., Oct. 17, 7:30 pm. Copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk. 

 

Book Signing:  The Library will host a book signing of the recently published book “Fair Lawn” on Sunday, October 28 from 2 - 4 p.m. The book contains 200 photographs and text that record the history of the borough from the early 18th century to its development as a modern suburb. Local authors and longtime residents, Elaine B. Winshell and Jane Lyle Diepeveen, will be on hand to sign books and answer questions about Fair Lawn’s history. Sculpture:  Sculptor Affiliates of the Art Center of Northern N.J. - Exhibition by 12 area sculptors in the Gallery. Exhibit may be seen during library hours through October 29. 

 

Halloween Party for kids Saturday, Oct. 27, 2 to 3 pm. Please come in costume. Fair Lawn residents only. 

 

Kids Stamp Club will meet on Weds, Oct. 10 at 3:45 p.m. 

 

Story Time:  Mother Goose Time for babies up to two years old with an adult partner on Oct. 5 and 19, from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. Fair Lawn residents only. Super Story Time for children kindergarten and up (no registration required) is offered on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m beginning on 9/25 and continuing to 12/18. Library Board will meet Weds. night, Oct. 31 at 8:00 p.m. Friends of the Library will meet on Tues. night, Oct. 9, at 8:00 p.m. 

 

Internet and Internet catalog training for adults is available on Tues., Thurs., Sat. mornings at 9:00 a.m. Call 796-3400, ex. 5, to sign up for a one hour class. The library is online 24/7 through the Internet at http://www.bccls.org/fairlawn
