INSURANCE
& CONSUMER AWARENESS
The Fair Lawn Senior Center is hosting a program entitled “Insurance and
Consumer Awareness for Seniors – What You Should Know!” on Thursday,
July 19 at 11 am. This senior consumer awareness program, conducted
by investigators from the Division of Anti-Fraud Compliance, covers
contemporary insurance and financial activities and “opportunities”
that may adversely affect seniors individually and as a group.
Through the use of video segments, based on actual cases of fraud, and
discussions led by Principal Investigator Jan Allen and Senior
Investigator Ted Freeman, seniors will learn to identify insurance and
financial situations in which caution should be exercised. Topics
such as predatory lending practices, viaticals and life settlements, and
seniors used as conduits by others to submit false claims, will be
discussed. The Senior Center is located on the corner of 11th Street
and Gardiner Road. This program is FREE & OPEN to the public!
PREVENT
GERMS
On Thursday, June 28th at 11 am, the Fair Lawn Senior Center, in

Community Education Coordinator Maryann Walsh will present an excellent
and timely program which educates consumers to get "back to the
basics" and learn a few practical and simple behaviors for keeping
the germs away. This program is free and open to the public.
