Election Results   In November, Fair Lawn residents voted for several positions including new Council members, state legislators and Governor.   Borough Council Democrats David Ganz and Allan Caan easily defeated their Republican opponents in the Council race.  To read Fair Lawn News' interviews with the Council candidates, click on their names below.   Council Candidates Votes David Ganz (D) 5,487 Allan Caan (D) 5,013 Mark Sedaka (R) 4,447 Dan Whalen (R) 4,150   State Legislature Two Fair Lawn residents faced off in the State Assembly race.  Long-time Assemblyman Nick Felice lost to former Deputy Mayor Matt Ahearn.       Matt Ahearn joins Rose Heck of Hasbrouck Heights as the two Assembly members representing Fair Lawn.  Fair Lawn also has a new State Senator, Joseph Coniglio, a Democrat of Paramus.   Legislative redistricting helped the Democrats this year.  Fair Lawn’s old legislative district was mostly Republican, the new one is mostly Democratic.  Fair Lawn is in the 38th legislative district which includes Elmwood Park, Fort Lee, Hasbrouck Heights, Little Ferry, Lodi, Paramus, Ridgefield, Saddle Brook, South Hackensack and Teterboro.     Four candidates vied for the two Assembly seats.  State Assembly Race Totals Rose Heck (R) 25,882 Matt Ahearn (D) 25,819 Kay Nest (D)  25,485 Nick Felice (R) 25,107   Governor's Race And in case you are curious, Jim McGreevey received 64% of the vote in Fair Lawn compared to 36% for Bret Schundler.  McGreevey's support was much greater in Fair Lawn than his support in Bergen County (55%) or his support in the state (56%).    What Do You Think?: Send an e- mail to editor@fairlawnnews.com or post a message on the Fair Lawn News Discussion Forum.
